Been lurking for a bit and finally decided to jump in with a topic that's always on my mind when I'm tinkering: the tech behind our custom eBikes. I'm currently spec'ing out a new build, probably a hardtail mountain bike for some gnarly trail riding, and I'm diving deep into controller capabilities.
Specifically, I'm curious about how many of you custom builders are really getting into programming your controllers (like ASI BAC, Kelly, etc.) beyond the basic settings? Are you finding significant performance gains or efficiencies by fine-tuning things like field weakening, current limits, or regen braking for specific motors and battery setups? What's your go-to resource for understanding these deeper tech aspects?
