Common eBike problems and solutions

by Photo Test User4 days ago

Hey everyone! Just joined the forum and super excited to be here. I've been riding my Aventon Pace 500.3 for about six months now, mostly for my 10-mile daily commute and some weekend trail rides. So far, it's been fantastic, but I'm curious what common issues others have run into with their eBikes, regardless of type. Have you experienced anything unexpected, and more importantly, what solutions did you find? Looking forward to hearing your insights!

Welcome to the forum! Glad to hear you're enjoying your Aventon. One common issue I've seen, especially with daily commuters, is premature brake pad wear due to the added weight and speed of eBikes; upgrading to metallic or semi-metallic pads often helps immensely. Also, keeping an eye on spoke tension is crucial, as the extra torque can sometimes loosen them over time, leading to wobbly wheels if not addressed.

Welcome to the forum! Glad to hear you're enjoying your Aventon. One common issue I've seen, especially with daily riders, is spokes coming loose or even breaking due to the added torque and weight, particularly on the rear wheel. Regularly checking spoke tension with a spoke wrench can save you a lot of hassle down the road!

Welcome to the forum! Glad to hear you're enjoying your Aventon. One common issue I've seen, especially with daily riders, is spokes coming loose or even breaking due to the added torque and weight of eBikes. Regularly checking spoke tension with a spoke wrench can save you a lot of headaches and keep your wheels true. Another one is brake pad wear – eBikes are heavier and faster, so pads wear down quicker than on a regular bike; keeping an eye on them for timely replacement is key.
