eBike technology explained

Hey everyone!

I've been riding my Aventon Level.2 for a few months now, mostly for my 10-mile round trip commute with some decent hills, and I'm constantly amazed by how smoothly the pedal assist works. It got me thinking about the "magic" behind it all. Does anyone have a good, easy-to-understand resource or explanation of how the different eBike technologies (torque vs. cadence sensors, motor types, battery management systems) actually work together? I'd love to understand the tech that makes our rides so much fun!
