eBike technology explained

Hey everyone,

I was just reading some articles in an eBike news roundup and it got me thinking about how quickly the tech is evolving. It seems like every month there's a new motor, battery chemistry, or smart display feature being announced.

For those of us who've been riding for a while, what's one piece of eBike technology that you initially didn't understand but now totally appreciate, or something you'd love to see explained better for newcomers? I'm personally still trying to wrap my head around the nuances of different torque sensors vs. cadence sensors and how much they truly impact the ride feel on my commuter eMTB.
