eBike technology explained

Hey everyone!

I've been really diving deep into my eBike's tech lately, especially as I'm thinking about a motor upgrade for tackling some steeper trails on my hardtail. It got me wondering, how much do you all really get into the nitty-gritty of eBike technology? Are you just happy it works, or do you love understanding the differences between hub vs. mid-drive, torque sensors vs. cadence, or even the various battery chemistries? I'm particularly interested in how understanding these things has helped your DIY projects or modifications!
