New to eBikes - where to start?

Hey everyone!

I'm completely new to the eBike world and feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options out there. I'm looking to get my first eBike, primarily for commuting about 10 miles round trip on mostly paved roads, but with a few decent hills. I'm leaning towards a commuter or city style, but I'm open to suggestions. For those of you who've been through this, what was your "aha!" moment when choosing your first eBike, and what features did you prioritize? Any specific models or brands you'd recommend checking out for a newbie?
