New to eBikes - where to start?

Hey everyone!

I'm totally new to the eBike world and feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options out there. I'm really interested in getting a folding eBike, primarily for commuting about 5-7 miles each way on mostly flat city streets, but also to throw in my car for weekend trips to explore new areas. My main question is, for a first-time owner, what are the absolute must-have features or specs I should be looking for in a folding eBike, and are there any common pitfalls to avoid? Any advice on brands or specific models would be amazing too! Thanks in advance!
