New to eBikes - where to start?

Hey everyone!

I'm totally new to the eBike world and feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options out there. I'm looking to get into some light trail riding and maybe a bit of commuting, probably 10-20 miles per ride on mixed terrain. For those of you who've been through this, what was your first eBike experience like, and what kind of bike did you start with? Any specific models or types you'd recommend for a beginner like me, or things you wish you knew before buying your first one?
