New to eBikes - where to start?

Hey everyone!

I've been lurking here for a bit and finally decided to dive into the eBike world. I'm completely new to this and feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options out there – Class 1, 2, 3, hub motors, mid-drives, cargo, mountain... it's a lot! I'm mainly looking for something to commute about 10 miles round trip on mostly paved paths, maybe some light gravel, and occasionally haul groceries. For those of you who've been through this, what was your "aha!" moment or the best advice you got when you were just starting out? Any tips on where to even begin narrowing down the choices?
