Legal regulations for eBikes

Hey everyone!

Been loving my new Class 3 eBike, it absolutely crushes my 20-mile commute with some decent hills. But lately, I've been thinking a lot about all the different legal regulations out there, especially when I see folks on what look like souped-up bikes on trails. It seems like every state and even some cities have their own rules about where you can ride, what class of eBike is allowed, and even motor wattage limits.

It gets pretty confusing trying to keep up! What's been your experience navigating eBike laws in your area? Have you ever run into issues or had to change your riding habits because of local regulations?
