Common eBike problems and solutions

by BikeLife1 day ago

Hey everyone!

Been riding my eMTB (a Specialized Levo SL) a lot lately, probably put in about 500 miles this spring on some pretty gnarly trails. It got me thinking about common eBike issues we all face. What are some of the most frequent problems you've encountered with your eBikes, and more importantly, what clever solutions or workarounds have you found? I'm curious about everything from battery quirks to motor noises to brake issues – let's share some wisdom!

Hey there! Awesome to hear you're putting those miles on your Levo SL – 500 miles on gnarly trails is solid! For me, a recurring theme has been keeping the drivetrain clean and properly lubed, especially with the added torque from the motor wearing things out faster. I've found a good chain scrubber and a dry lube applied frequently makes a huge difference in longevity and keeping things quiet.

Hey, awesome to hear you're putting those miles in on the Levo SL! One common thing I've noticed, especially with hard riding, is keeping the electrical connections clean and dry, especially around the battery and motor. A little dielectric grease on those contacts can prevent a lot of intermittent power issues and error codes down the line. Also, don't underestimate the power of a good chain lube for keeping things quiet and efficient!
