New to eBikes - where to start?

by ParkeBikeabout 17 hours ago

Hey everyone!

Just joined the forum, super excited to finally dive into the eBike world. I'm completely new to this and feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options out there, especially when it comes to different brands. I'm looking for something versatile for commuting (about 10 miles each way, mostly paved roads but some gravel paths) and weekend leisure rides. For those of you with experience, what brands did you consider when you first started, and what made you choose the one you did? Any brands to definitely check out or maybe avoid for a beginner?

Welcome to the eBike world, you're going to love it! For your 10-mile commute with mixed terrain, a hybrid eBike sounds perfect. When I first started, I looked at brands like Rad Power Bikes and Aventon for their value and versatility, as they offer great options for both paved and light gravel. Many beginners find their models approachable and reliable without breaking the bank, so definitely check them out. What's your rough budget looking like?
