Legal regulations for eBikes

Hey everyone!

Just got back from an awesome ride on my fat tire eBike down some local trails, and it got me thinking about something important. With these bikes becoming more popular, especially the beefier fat tire models, I'm a bit confused about the legal landscape. Are there specific regulations for fat tire eBikes that differ from regular eBikes, or is it mostly based on the class system (Class 1, 2, 3)? I'd love to hear what you all know or have experienced in your areas regarding speed limits, trail access, and licensing for our wider-tired friends!
