eBike technology explained

I've been thinking a lot lately about the tech that goes into our cargo eBikes, especially after hauling groceries and my kiddo up some decent hills on my RadWagon. It's amazing how these bikes handle the extra weight so smoothly, but I'm curious about the 'how' behind it all. What specific technologies (motor type, torque sensors, battery management, etc.) do you think are most crucial for cargo eBikes to perform so well, especially when loaded up?
