New to eBikes - where to start?

Subject: New to eBikes - totally overwhelmed, where do I even begin?!

Hey everyone,

I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to jump into the eBike world, but wow, it's a lot! I'm looking to get an eBike for my daily 10-mile commute, which is mostly flat but has a couple of decent hills, and also for some weekend leisure rides on paved trails. I'm seeing so many different motor types, battery sizes, and classifications (Class 1, 2, 3) – my head is spinning! What's the absolute first thing I should consider when trying to narrow down my options? Any advice for a complete newbie would be amazing!
