Legal regulations for eBikes

Hey everyone,

Been thinking a lot about DIY eBike builds and the legal side of things lately. I've seen some awesome custom jobs with powerful motors, but it always makes me wonder about the regulations. If you're building your own eBike, especially if you're pushing past the typical Class 1/2/3 specs, how do you ensure it's still street legal in your area? Are there specific power limits or speed cutoffs you have to stick to, even if you're just riding on private property or trails?
