eBike technology explained
Hey everyone!
I'm looking to dive deeper into understanding the tech behind eBikes, especially as I'm considering upgrading from my current hardtail eMTB to something with a bit more range and power for longer trail rides. It feels like every brand has its own jargon for motors, batteries, and controllers – integrated vs. external, hub vs. mid-drive, different watt-hours and peak watts.
What are some of the key technological differences you've found most impactful when choosing an eBike, especially for mixed terrain and longer distances (say, 30-50 miles)? Are there any specific tech features or specs that you feel are often overlooked but make a huge difference in the riding experience? I'd love to hear your insights!
