Legal regulations for eBikes

Just got back from a fantastic 20-mile ride on my AiPAS X1 through some local park trails, and it got me thinking about eBike regulations again. Specifically, I'm wondering about the different classifications (Class 1, 2, 3) and how they apply to our AiPAS bikes, especially regarding throttle use on multi-use paths. Does anyone have a good handle on the legal landscape for AiPAS owners in different states or even just general best practices to stay compliant and avoid issues? It seems to vary so much, and I want to make sure I'm always riding responsibly.
