eBike technology explained

I've been riding my new folding eBike, a Lectric XP 3.0, for my daily commute (about 10 miles round trip, mostly flat city streets), and I'm really enjoying the assist! It got me thinking about all the tech packed into these compact machines. Specifically, I'm curious about the different motor types – hub vs. mid-drive – and how they impact performance on a folding eBike, especially when tackling a few small hills or carrying groceries. What are your thoughts on the pros and cons for a folder?
