AiPAS vs other budget brands - worth it?

by ParkeBikeabout 1 month ago

Comparing AiPAS to Lectric and other budget eBikes. The specs look competitive but I haven't seen many reviews. Current owners - how's the reliability been? Any issues with customer service or parts availability?

This is coming along nicely! Have you considered fenders are worth it if you ride in any weather?

I've been wondering about this too. Following this thread!

I've had an aipasbike M2 Pro for about 6 months now and although it's not the best ebike I've ever been on, for the price, range, and speed, it's a tough bike to beat and I've rode alot of ebikes. Top speed is 32mph and range is approximately 50 miles mostly throttle on a single full charge. I'd say it's weight & size are its biggest drawbacks it's a big bike not for riders under 5'8" and its heavy. I'm not exactly sure of the weight I just know it's up there. I'm 5'10" 150 lbs and sometimes I feel like I have to mount it... Having said that, it came packaged solidly, it was simple to assemble, and in 6 months I haven't had to contact customer support (so i cant speak to how good they are)for anything and the only part I had to replace so far was the brake pads they wore down from normal wear, and replacements were easy to find at my local bikeshop. SO.... are there better e-bikes out there? You bet! But as I was saying earlier so far its been just about the best $800 I've spent in a long time

Hey David, I totally get why you're looking at AiPAS—they've been aggressive with their specs-to-price ratio lately. My buddy rides their folder, the T1, and the biggest difference he noticed compared to his old Lectric XP was component quality, specifically the cheap plastic connectors and less responsive cadence sensor. If you're okay with possibly swapping out some minor stuff down the road and doing your own maintenance, they're likely a good entry point, but don't expect the polished experience of a brand with a huge US presence.

Hey there! I've been watching AiPAS too, and like you, I haven't seen a ton of long-term reviews. From what I gather, they seem to be using pretty standard components you'd find on other budget bikes, so parts should be interchangeable for common wear items. The biggest unknown for me is definitely their customer service and warranty support if something major goes wrong – that's where some of these newer brands can really fall short compared to the more established budget players like Lectric.

Thanks for the detailed feedback, everyone! It sounds like the M2 Pro is a solid contender if you're okay with its heft. I'm curious, for those who've ridden both, how does the ride quality and handling compare between the larger AiPAS models and something like a Lectric XP, especially when navigating tighter spots or carrying it up a few stairs?
