Safety tips for urban commuting

Just wanted to kick off a discussion about urban eBike commuting safety. I've been riding my Class 1 eMTB about 8 miles each way through downtown traffic and some bike paths, and it's always a bit of a mixed bag out there. I try to be super visible and predictable, but I'm curious what specific safety tips or gear you all swear by for navigating busy city streets.
