eBike technology explained

Hey everyone!

I'm pretty new to the eBike world, just got my first commuter eBike a few weeks ago and I'm loving it for my daily 10-mile round trip on mostly flat city streets. I've been doing some reading, but I'm still a bit overwhelmed by all the different tech out there – hub motors vs. mid-drive, torque sensors vs. cadence sensors, different battery chemistries, etc.

Could someone break down the really important tech aspects for a beginner like me? What should I focus on understanding first, and how do these different technologies actually impact the riding experience for someone just getting started? Any insights would be super helpful!
