eBike technology explained

Hey everyone!

I've been thinking a lot lately about how eBike technology impacts safety, especially with all the different systems out there. I ride a Class 3 commuter eBike, mostly on city streets and bike paths, and sometimes I feel like the motor's power can surprise me if I'm not careful.

Specifically, I'm curious about the different braking technologies – like hydraulic disc brakes vs. mechanical, or even the newer ABS systems some high-end bikes are getting. How much of a difference do you all think these advanced braking systems make in real-world emergency stops, especially at higher eBike speeds? Have any of you had an experience where a specific tech really saved you from a sticky situation?
