Legal regulations for eBikes

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to figure out the legal landscape for eBikes, and it feels like a bit of a minefield! I've got a Class 2 fat tire eBike that I mostly use for commuting and some light trail riding, maybe 15-20 miles round trip. I'm constantly seeing conflicting info online about where I can and can't ride, especially regarding bike paths versus multi-use trails, and even speed limits.

Has anyone here had any trouble with local authorities or gotten clarification on what's allowed in different areas? Specifically, I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Class 2 bikes on shared-use paths – do you ever get pushback, even if you're pedaling and keeping it slow? It's confusing trying to stay compliant!
