Safety tips for urban commuting

Just got back from my 10-mile urban commute on my e-MTB, and it got me thinking about staying safe out there. With all the traffic, potholes, and sometimes unpredictable pedestrians, it can be a real jungle! What are your absolute must-have safety tips or gear recommendations for navigating city streets on your eBike?
