New to eBikes - where to start?

Subject: New to eBikes - where to start? (Total newbie here!)

Hey everyone! I've been lurking for a bit and finally decided to jump in. I'm completely new to the eBike world, but I'm super keen to get one for my commute (about 10 miles each way, mostly paved roads with a few hills) and some weekend trail riding. There are so many options out there – hub motors, mid-drives, different battery sizes – it's a bit overwhelming! What are some of the first things I should consider, or any common pitfalls to avoid for a beginner? Thanks in advance for any advice!
