Safety tips for urban commuting

Just wanted to start a quick thread about urban eBike commuting safety. I've been riding my Class 1 eMTB about 8 miles each way through downtown traffic and some bike paths, and while it's a blast, I'm always looking for ways to be safer. What are your absolute must-have safety tips or gear for navigating busy city streets on your eBike?
