Legal regulations for eBikes

Hey everyone!

I was out on a long ride with my Class 3 eMTB last weekend, doing about 25 miles on some mixed-use paths and roads, and it got me thinking about legal regulations. Specifically, how do you all feel about the different class definitions (Class 1, 2, 3) and their impact on safety, especially when sharing paths with pedestrians or regular cyclists? Do you think the current rules adequately address safety concerns, or should there be more uniformity across states/regions? It feels like a bit of a patchwork out there sometimes!
