eBike technology explained

I've been diving deep into eBike tech lately, trying to understand the nuances between different brands, especially when it comes to motor types and battery management systems. It seems like Bosch, Shimano, and Brose all have their own unique approaches, and then you have the Bafang/hub motor side of things too.

For those of you who've ridden multiple brands, have you noticed significant differences in how their tech feels on the trail or road? I'm particularly curious if anyone has a preference for a specific brand's motor/controller combo for, say, long-distance touring versus aggressive mountain biking. What tech features really stand out to you, good or bad, from one brand to another?
