I've been riding my new eMTB (a Specialized Levo SL) for a few months now, mostly on some pretty steep local trails, and I'm constantly amazed by how different the motor feels compared to my friend's Trek Rail. It got me thinking: beyond just the motor brand (Bosch, Shimano, Brose, Fazua, etc.), what are the key technological differences that make one eBike system feel so distinct from another? Is it all about torque, or are there other factors like sensor types, software tuning, or even battery integration that really define a brand's "ride feel"?
