Subject: New to eBikes - where to start? (Total newbie here!)

Hey everyone! I've been lurking for a bit and finally decided to jump in. I'm totally new to the eBike world but super intrigued by the idea of making my 10-mile daily commute a bit easier, especially with some hills involved. I'm looking for advice on where to even begin – what kind of eBike should I be looking at for a mix of paved roads and light gravel, and are there any absolute must-knows for a first-time owner? Any tips for a beginner would be amazing!
