Safety tips for urban commuting

Hey everyone!

Just got back from my morning commute on my e-MTB, and even though it's only 5 miles through the city, some of those intersections can be a bit hairy! I'm always trying to stay as visible and safe as possible, especially with all the cars and buses around. What are your absolute must-have safety tips or gear for urban eBike commuting? I'm particularly interested in strategies for busy intersections or dealing with distracted drivers.
