Legal regulations for eBikes

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to figure out something a bit confusing, and it feels like a real headache to troubleshoot. I've got a Class 2 eMTB (throttle and pedal assist up to 20mph), and I'm planning a trip to a new state where I'm not sure about the local eBike laws. Specifically, I'm worried about trail access – will my throttle get me into trouble on multi-use paths, or is it okay as long as I'm not exceeding the speed limit? Has anyone run into issues with this when traveling, and how did you figure out what was allowed?
