I've been riding my Aventon Level 2 commuter eBike for about six months now, racking up nearly 1000 miles on city streets and some light trails. I'm starting to get more curious about the "guts" of these machines, especially when it comes to maintenance. Things like motor types (hub vs. mid-drive), battery chemistry, and controller functions are still a bit of a black box for me.

What are some of the key eBike technologies that you think are most important for owners to understand, especially from a maintenance and repair perspective? Are there any specific components that are more prone to issues or benefit from regular checks that a beginner might overlook? I'm trying to get a better grasp on how everything works together!
