New to eBikes - where to start?

Hey everyone!

Just joined the forum and super excited to dive into the eBike world! I've been eyeing them for a while, mostly for commuting ~10 miles round trip on some hilly city streets, and maybe some weekend leisure rides on paved paths. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options – hub vs. mid-drive, battery sizes, different classes...

For those of you who were once newbies, what's the one piece of advice you wish you had when you first started looking? Or, what's the absolute first thing someone should consider when thinking about buying their first eBike? Thanks in advance for any wisdom!
