Safety tips for urban commuting

Just wanted to kick off a discussion about urban eBike safety. I've been commuting on my Class 1 eMTB about 8 miles each way through city streets, and while it's a blast, some of those intersections can get a bit hairy. What are your absolute must-have safety tips or gear for navigating busy urban environments on your eBike? Any specific strategies you use for staying visible or dealing with tricky traffic?
